Durian is considered "the King of Fruit" by many connoisseurs. We have eaten some of these foul-smelling fruit with both good and bad tasting results. These were growing on trees on the land adjacent to the Santubong River between the dinghy dock and the highway. Metal strips were attached around the tree trunks, probably to prevent rats from reaching the fruit.
